چکیده

Background: An isoscalar $pn$ pair is expected to emerge in nuclei that have similar proton and neutron numbers it may be a candidate for deuteron ``cluster.'' There is, however, no experimental evidence it.Purpose: The purpose of this paper construct new reaction model the $(p,pd)$ including breakup elementary process reformation by final-state interactions. How these processes contribute observables investigated. Methods: distorted wave impulse approximation extended twofold. $(p,pd)$, i.e., $p\text{\ensuremath{-}}d$ elastic scattering $d(p,p)pn$ reaction, are described with an picture employing nucleon-nucleon effective interaction. three-body waves final state calculated continuum-discretized coupled-channels method. triple-differential cross section (TDX) model. Results: reasonably well present model. As can either increase or decrease TDX height depending on interference between channels deuteron, while back-coupling effect always decreases it.Conclusions: It shown significantly changes through interference. important include quantitatively discuss sections view formation nuclei. For more quantitative discussion regarding data, further improvement will necessary.

Proton−deuteron elastic scattering above the deuteron breakup

The complex Kohn variational principle and the (correlated) hyperspherical harmonics method are applied to study the proton–deuteron elastic scattering at energies above the deuteron breakup threshold. Results for the elastic cross section and various elastic polarization observables have been obtained by taking into account the long–range effect of the Coulomb interaction and using a realistic...

Significance Of Deuteron Breakup In A Halo Transfer Reaction

We discuss the quasi-adiabatic approximations to the three-body wavefunction in breakup processes, clarifying the assumptions underlying the model. This suggests alternative approximation schemes. Using different theoretical three-body models, calculated differential cross section angular distributions for the Be(p,d) reaction, for which new preliminary data have been reported at 35 MeV, are pr...

The Kohn Variational Principle for Elastic Proton–Deuteron Scattering above Deuteron Breakup Threshold

In recent years, a series of accurate calculations ofN−d scattering observables below the deuteron breakup threshold (DBT) by using the Kohn variational principle (KVP) have been reported [1,2]. The resulting elastic n − d phase shifts were found to be in strict agreement with those determined via accurate solutions of the Faddeev equations (FE) [3]. The interest in this reaction has been reviv...

|SL| induced by channel coupling: The case of deuteron breakup

For deuteron scattering from 58Ni at laboratory energies of 56, 79, and 120 MeV, we study the dynamic polarization potentials (DPPs) induced by S-wave andD-wave breakup (BU), separately and together, in order to gain insight into the nature of the DPP as well as a counterintuitive property: the existence of L values for which the BU coupling increases |SL|, a ‘wrong-way’ effect. The effect is a...

Electrodisintegration of 3 He below and above deuteron breakup threshold

Recent advances in the study of electrodisintegration of 3 He are presented and discussed. The pair-correlated hyperspherical harmonics method is used to calculate the initial and final state wave functions , with a realistic Hamiltonian consisting of the Argonne v18 two-nucleon and Urbana IX three-nucleon interactions. The model for the nuclear current and charge operators retains one-and many...
